A Faith-Filled Beginning to My Healing Journey

When I began my healing journey in August 2025, the very first book I read was The Metabolic Approach to Cancer. Looking back, I truly believe that was God’s timing.

This book shifted my understanding of healing in a profound way. It presented cancer not only as a genetic issue, but as a metabolic one—and that perspective felt like an invitation to see the body through the lens of God’s intentional design. It reminded me that our bodies are not broken beyond repair, but wonderfully made with built-in systems for restoration.

"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well." Psalms 139:14

One of the most intriguing parts of the book for me was fasting. Scripture speaks often about fasting—not just as a spiritual discipline, but as a way to humble ourselves, seek clarity, and rely more fully on God. What fascinated me was learning how closely the science of fasting aligns with what God established long ago. Giving the body rest from constant digestion allows it to reset, repair, and heal—something I now see as an act of stewardship rather than sacrifice.

As I incorporated fasting into my own life, I began to notice not only physical changes, but spiritual ones as well. Fasting created space—for prayer, reflection, and deeper trust. I truly believe it has been a significant contributor to my journey, and it’s a lifestyle change I plan to carry with me moving forward.

From a health perspective, fasting has been shown to support metabolic balance, reduce inflammation, improve insulin sensitivity, and activate cellular repair. From a faith perspective, it is a reminder that God knew exactly what He was doing when He designed our bodies—and when He called His people to fast.

This book was more than information; it was confirmation. It strengthened my belief that healing is not just about treatments, but about alignment—mind, body, and spirit. I am grateful that God led me to this knowledge at the very beginning of my journey, and I continue to trust Him as the ultimate healer.

Sometimes, the first step forward is simply being open to the wisdom God places in front of us.
